The only chance of a Woodditton connection may be that he was lodging in Woodditton when working at Longholes Farm (which is now Longholes Stud and Sandwich Stud. He may course have moved to a Woodditton farm. He is the only man found with any connection close to Woodditton.

He enlisted in Bury St Edmunds.

The 15th Battalion of the Suffolk Regiment, as the Yeomanry Battalion, went to Gallipoli in September 1915, and after the withdrawal were sent to Egypt. They moved to France in May 1918.
On the 18th September 1918 they attacked on a front of about 18 miles between Gouzeaucourt and Holnon, sweeping through Templeux and over the Quarries. Practically all objectives were gained for the cost of 6 killed, including Christopher.

Christopher Chambers is buried in Templeux-le-Guerard British Cemetery, France grave 1:C:39
